brought it out for the first time today at cp. waves were a little big for me IMO to be bodysurfing + the dafins are killer on my ankes, maybe I'm kicking too hard.

Not sure if it's because I was out of the water for like 2 months, but body surfing is intense. I got tired quick, never get that winded from surfing.

Funny because a waist high wave instantly becomes overhead, total trip, it feels much bigger. Then when you paddle out on your surfboard you think, wow really?

Oh and, do you guys change which hand it's on based on if its a left or right wave?

Figures it makes sense to have it on the inside hand (so your right hand on a right, and your left hand on a left).

Oh and ShShSh has serious guts, handplaning in 6-8 faces. That would be really intense.

There was a bit more size today then I expected! Caught a few head high + waves during a sunset sesh at Dev.

I feel ya on how tiring it is... I was suprised at how physically demanding it was my first time out too.

Im still blown away at how easy it is to get into really small waves... Things I couldnt even dream of surfing are a cakewalk with a handplane. Interestingly I tried handplane-less bodysurfing last time I was out and the difference the board makes is HUGE.

Switch hands if you can... You can probably get away with it in smaller waves but once they get a bit more critical it definitely becomes more necessary.

Well if I ever see someone bodysurfing campus with a brownfish handplane ill be sure to say hi... Pretty safe bet its you.

Now try dragging a heavy camera waterhousing with you through the water...
