Not as big as yesterday?

When I went out to see the waves yesterday, I was seeing huge waves even at Goleta beach. I strolled by campus about an hour or so ago and the waves weren't nearly as big as they were yesterday.

The waves this morning were about 1/3 of what I saw yesterday afternoon.

yesterday the west santa barbara channel bouy peaked at 28.9 feet at 1:30, and the biggest period on record today saw size of only 17.1 feet, as seen here--http://ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=46054. the surf still looked great today, but it was nothing compared to yesterday... its weired but it looked small to me after yesterday, and i didnt even think of going out. it always takes some recalibrating after such a large swell, because on any other day i would have missed school for the meager surf today.:)
