Shooting from the beach with 400mm lens + 1.4x teleconverter x 1.3 crop factor (Canon 1D MkII) = 728mm true/adjusted focal length.

The surfer who did that sit-down barrel ride was a young guy named Drew Ventura from San Clemente. Hey was shredding...

Today while it was raining I was reading a book on surfing that was complaining that all California has to offer is mushy waves (compared to Hawaiian juice). :rolleyes:

Maybe one of these days I will be in one and make it worth your effort$$ What happened to that guy on the all blue board. He looked great on the stills and then it looks like he barneyed it!
