This is a pretty unique board I got about 1-1/2 years ago. Amazing craft to surf, incredibly smooth in the water, and it feels like cheating.

It is a custom shaped by Rich Pavel in San Diego County, and wood finished by Danny Hess in the Bay Area. Rails are cork, deck is poplar. Moonlight Glassing in Encinitas then finished the job with all 5 fins glassed on. An amazing board.

Dimensions are 7'2" x 19" x 2-1/2".

Thanks for indulging a "Hey, look at me!" moment!

Did you have to coordinate the production of the board? Shaping>wood>glass?

Sort of... I contacted Rich & Danny to do the board after I heard they had done 5 boards together about 6 months earlier. They agreed, and then I requested the Moonlight finishing. Between Rich and Danny it was easy since they had done this once before, but then after doing the initial vac bagging, I worked with Danny to get the board to Moonlight for finning and finishing. Once done, I had to get it back up here from there.

I didn't realize it was coming in, when my friend Ian Zamora (the guy who made my fish) drove up with it to Ventura! Great surprise. Ian then called Danny, put his camera on video mode without telling me, handed the board to me, and I freaked.
