:D Post 'em up, folks!

I missed the Rincrowd, and was stoked on soloing for 1 hour and a crowd of 6 total for the next 2 at a place that is very visible. I'm sorry I missed SBSurfer somehow; crazy fun out there!

looks like we were keeping the crowds down by swapping off sites! H was really fun in the pm as it was sunny and there were not many people taking the sets when I was out. Its cold out there too, I surfed in the morning in my regular 3/2 and then had to pull out the old beater 3/2 so that i didnt have to suit up in a cold wet suit but the old suit is cold so I froze out after an hour!

oh, and i didn't surf h-just watched. too advanced for me, but the caliber of surfing that morning was up there.

surfed skippers on saturday afternoon. not quite the surf I was expecting but surely grateful for the experience.

none too congested lineup, 35-40. 15 or so at the top. 5-6 guys contenting for the sets. The rest were mainly buoys on the inside enjoying the sights.

waves: 4-6 foot, some swinging wide, all sumamente tuboso. Not really connecting all the way but pura vida either way. Definitely some gurgle monsters when the pulses strafed the hook. Wind calmed towards sunset and was never really an issue whilst I was out.

i was rewarded with more than my fair share of waves. out until dark. claimed my first legit backdoor; saw the section coming---> bottom swooped--> ducked in--> canon foddered out the other side. stoked. several coverups were had but the backie is what stuck in mine mind's eye. saw my life flash before my eyes on one bombie that I almost dry docked on; somehow I threaded the needle underwater and no barnacle contact was made.

board: 5'10" Paulownia railed quad (http://santabarbarasurfer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85) from surferguy

The thing catches waves like a dreamboat. Goes faster than I've ever gone before, extracts speed from the unlikeliest of lumps. Perfect first surf for the board. It's a tad larger than i'm accustomed to so back foot placement was a bit of an issue...had some trouble drawing out my turns as she doesn't handle like my lil twin puck, she needs much more follow through encouragement. Hopefully time will heal my approach.

glad you got some memorable waves on that puppy :)
try scooting the front fins back about 1/8" and the rear fins forward the same or 1/4"...i forgot to mention that the guy riding that board before you is around 195lbs; scoot the fins closer together and you'll find that skating action!
