Hi, I'm new to surfing, new to SB, and I wrecked my new board on some rocks. Any recommendations for repair? I need my side fin insert replaced as the fin and half the insert dissappeared and cracked the glass. It's a foam/fiberglass board- with the fin insert shaped like three circles thats about as technical as I can get sorry for my ignorance! Thanks for any advice.
Talk to Doug out at Surf Country out in Goleta...

were you fins glassed in? If not, a fin box? was the box destroyed? Ouch, that doesn't sound like DIY.

Try Damien Raqueno in S.B. He does outstanding work on high performance boards; repaired a glass-on fin to a channel bottom board of mine better than new. Strong, secure, and light. You can reach him though CI Surfboards, as he does most of their repairs. He's fast, too (one week turn around, typically, depending upon the repair).

I'd recommend Woolly Bear out of Ventura (near Target) His number is 340-1135. He does all Ventura Surf Shop's repairs and has fast turnaround, too. His girlfriend also has a cute dog that runs around his shop!

Tim Seiman is the best and he is a lifetime local so we should give him our business and he is conveniently located in between Rincon and SB right off the highway. 684-6864

The Green Room has great and cheap service. It's located three buildings south of the Fairview & Hollister intersection. Just keep an eye out for a shop with a surfboard for a sign and knock on the door in the back of the building.

thanks again for all the tips. I had to go down to Ventura yesterday for some xmas shopping so I ended up taking it to woolybear, and he fixed it in LESS than 24 hours, I'd call that pretty fast turnaround. Had I known about Tim I would have taken it there, as that would have been the most conveniant to carp. Too bad I'll be on the east coast for the next 2 weeks and I think the water is too frigid in NJ right now for me! Happy Solstice y'all
