Hey ya'll,

I'm heading down to Pescador/Todos in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone had tips on breaks and rentals. I figured since it would cost $200 more dollars to fly my CI down there (and hope it didn't get dinged) it's better to rent.

Found pescaderosurfcamp.com. They seem cool. Any info?

Wish I could help...it's been 20 years since I've been down there...

Just got back from a 2 week trip to the tip and back. You'll prolly wanna go to Playa Los Cerritos. Sadly there is a surf shop and beach club (bar) there now. There is also a break out at what used to be the San Pedrito RV Park,
4WD recommended though. No info on the surf camp you refer to, although it was there 5 years ago when I was also there, prolly a good sign. Many other places around there too, just do some exploring, can't give 'em all away ;-)

We keep hearing about all the recent and heavy shit going down past the border. Girlfriends getting raped, surfers getting held at gun point, getting robbed and even having vehicles taken. I know guys that have been going down for over 15 years and they will not cross the boarder any more! I would think twice and make sure to leave your chicks at home, and don't drive down in an expensive looking truck with lots of toys! U will get pulled over by bandits that are playing like they are mexi-cops, and this is when all hell breaks loose!

Don't drive at night and don't stop before El Rosario, and don't pull over for ANYBODY until you are in a populated area.

That really stinks if you are a chick that would like to go south for a surf trip.

Yeah, I am a chick, actually.

FYI, I'm flying in to cabo and just driving the hour up to Todos. I would be crazy (well, soome say I am) to drive down from cali by my self!

Have a great time. Taking a surf trip on your own is true freedom.

Cake walk, nothing to worry about, 'cept maybe the truckers! Keep your eyes open and have fun!

Not driving at night as always been the cardinal rule of driving in Mexico.

My experience has been that the closer you are to the border, the more likely you are to have trouble...

Hey Todos is nice town. Cabo is a bit much. I hope you have a great time.
Don't forget to check out the not so famous Hotel California. I remember a nice organic farm on the way to the surf. Cheers

There's a good article about surfers travelling in Baja and the perils they face in today's (12.25) Santa Barbara News-Press.

Is this the same article that's in the SNP?

I drove to Cabo/Vallarta in 1984. Haven't been back. At that time, Todos Santos was so beautiful and unspoiled. A little strip settlement. I don't know how it is now.

Another nice place was Sayulita, just north of Vallarta.

For waves? OMG, SAN BLAS!!!!!!

I'd be afraid to go to these places now because I know they couldn't be the same.
Ah well, there are always new frontiers.
